Nashville’s Most Indulgent Treats

Where to Find the Best Treats & Dessert in Nashville

Great music isn’t the only thing you’ll find in Nashville. The city is full of great shops dedicated to bringing you a little sweetness into your life. From local bakeries to ice cream stores, there are plenty of products made right here that are both indulgent and support local business owners. We’ve rounded up our favorites.

Where to Find the Best Treats in Music City

Moonpie

The MoonPie was the concept of a Kentuckian and produced in Chattanooga. We consider them a Tennessee staple, and they can be found throughout Nashville and across the state. It got its start with a traveling salesperson looking for a snack “as big as the moon.” A rough concept started with a layered graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate. A local bakery liked the idea and decided to mass produce it. After ten years, they were creating is hundreds a day.

Five Daughters

Five Daughters is a fantastic bakery with locations throughout Music City. Their baked goods are exquisite and come in unique flavors. They are most famous for their 100-layer donut that is rolled in sugar and filled with cream. Their flavors are vanilla, chocolate sea salt, and maple glaze. Seasonal options are available throughout the year for more options. Do you or a friend have food allergies? Vegan donuts are an option in a range of changing flavors. Check out their donut cam on their website to confirm they haven’t sold out before you head down.

Goo Goo Cluster

Originating in 1912 by the Standard Candy Company, the Goo Goo Cluster has become a staple for Tennesseeans. It’s made of a round mound of caramel, fresh roasted peanuts, and marshmallow nougat. The whole thing is engulfed in the sweetest chocolate. What made this Nashville treat so popular was the willingness to ditch the traditional rectangular shape associated with candy. You can visit the Goo Goo Cluster store in Downtown Nashville to pick up some for you and your family.

Dulce Desserts

Who doesn’t love a cupcake? If you have a proclivity towards these sweet, round, indulgent treats, you’re in luck. Dulce Desserts is a locally owned bakery that creates these beauties from scratch. You’ll find a few regular flavors year round like vanilla, red velvet, chocolate, and cookies and cream. But, be on the lookout for the cupcake of the month.

The Bang Candy Company

Located in Marathon Village, the Bang Candy Company offers almost everything you could want regarding indulgent treats. All of their products are available in beautiful flavors. They got their start in crafting rose cardamom marshmallow delights but quickly expanded. We highly recommend their fudge. It ticks everything on the “indulgent” list.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream

Warmer, Springtime weather is upon us which means sometimes we want something cool and refreshing. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream has multiple locations across Nashville and comes highly recommended. The ice cream is identified by its buttercream body and smooth texture. No synthetic flavorings are found in any of their product which means you are left with a bright, flavorful, clean finish. You can head in for a scoop or two of your favorite, or you can purchase a pint.

Nashville Sweets

Considered a boutique bakery, Nashville Sweets has a range of desserts. What sets them apart is not only their menu selection but the craftsmanship of each piece. They are like mini pieces of art. You can try their cake pops. Classic flavors are available like chocolate and vanilla. But, they have nonconventional flavors for the curious. Choose from mint chocolate chip, pumpkin, orange, or red velvet.

Christie Cookies

One day Christis Hauck decided he’d had enough of his day-job and quit. His mission when he left was to create the best cookie, and if you ask us, he succeeded. What he developed is Nashville’s finest cookie handcrafted with the best ingredients. Christie Cookies are found without added preservatives and refuse to take any shortcuts when making their products. So, you know you are left with nothing but delicious quality.

Olive & Sinclair

Founded in 2014, Olive & Sinclair pride themselves on using different techniques to build beautiful chocolate. They produce a range of chocolate bars with flavors inspired by the South. The twist is their modern European methods of production. On to something strong, the popularity of the chocolate factory outgrew its first location with a few years of opening. Now located in East Nashville, you can visit and take a tour of the factory. You might be able to find it in retailers throughout Nashville

Tin Cup

We can’t talk about indulgent treats without a coffee mention. The sweetness of the treats coupled with freshly roasted coffee is out of this world. And, we take coffee roasting seriously. We choose the finest beans and roast them to perfection right here in Nashville. The atmosphere is welcoming and you get a team of knowledgeable baristas happy to prepare your favorite cup. There are two locations: Madison, TN and Opry Mills Mall. Click here for more details.
