The image of a tin cup for us dates back to the birth of our nation in the 1700s. The colonists dumped their tea into the harbor and coffee was a symbol of the new patriotism and desire for independence. Patriots met, debated and planned in the coffee houses of the day. Patriots, soldiers, cowboys, and explorers drank their coffee by the fire from a tin cup as our nation grew up through the 1800s. The open exchange of ideas has been fueled by coffee in coffee houses and around campfires for hundreds of years in our great nation.
"A tin cup full to the brim with camaraderie and overflowing with the spirit of charity and serving the common good, that is what our name symbolizes."
